Campeonato Brasileiro - Série B: It is the second division of Brazilian football and has gone through many formats since the 1970s, when it emerged as a qualifying tier for the national championship. It settled in 2006 into a twenty-club round-robin with four promotions and four relegations, becoming one of the most competitive second divisions in the world. It is marked by the regular presence of big, well-supported clubs trying to rebuild, which guarantees high attendances and TV audiences.
