VIRADA HISTÓRICA! BECHLER, TAYNAH, VSR E HENNING ANALISAM ARGENTINA X EGITO E OS DUELOS DAS QUARTAS!
Copa do Mundo FIFA: Created in 1930, with the first edition in Uruguay, it is the biggest national-team competition in the world and the most watched tournament on the planet. Brazil are the only five-time champions, with titles in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002, followed by Germany and Italy with four each. Held every four years, it grew from thirteen to 32 teams over time and expanded to 48 from the 2026 edition, hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Argentina: A three-time world champion, it won the 1978 World Cup on home soil behind Mario Kempes's goals; 1986 in Mexico, with Diego Maradona's masterpiece, including both the "Hand of God" and the "Goal of the Century" against England in the same match; and 2022 in Qatar, in a final against France settled on penalties that finally crowned Lionel Messi. It is the most successful side in Copa América history, with 16 titles, the latest in 2021 at the Maracanã and in 2024, and has two Olympic gold medals (2004 and 2008). It has also lost several World Cup finals: 1930 to Uruguay, 1990 and 2014 to Germany, and 2026, when it arrived as holders and lost 1-0 to Spain after extra time. Alfredo Di Stéfano, who made his name in Spain, completes its gallery of geniuses.
Egito: A pioneer of African football, Egypt was the first country on the continent to join FIFA, in 1923, and the first African and Arab nation to play at a World Cup, in 1934 in Italy, where it lost 4-2 to Hungary. It was a founding member of the Confederation of African Football and won the first Africa Cup of Nations in 1957; it is now the tournament's most successful side, with seven titles, three of them in a row (2006, 2008 and 2010) under Hassan Shehata and with Mohamed Aboutrika on the pitch. It is also home to Al Ahly, Africa's most decorated club. After 1990 it spent 28 years away from the World Cup, returning in 2018 led by Liverpool idol Mohamed Salah, and in 2026 it reached the round of 16 of a World Cup for the first time.
